The profile offers low aerodynamic resistance and a better transition between circle and pneumatic, increasing aerodynamic efficiency on the road. The wide position of the circle also has a lower deflection of the tire for reduced rolling resistance. The combination of the wider tire, of the higher volume and the pressure of the lower tires helps to reduce the cyclist's fatigue, making the race on imperfect pavement and road conditions more uniform: the tire and wheels system absorbs shaking, not the cyclist.
